My Mom and I try to visit Winnipeg's St. Norbert Farmer's Market at least once each summer, but this year we just couldn't find a weekend that worked for both of us. So we decided to try something a little different and went last weekend instead. And, you know what? I kinda liked it! The air was crisp and refreshing; and, fall's bountiful harvest was full of saturated colours.....
We started the morning off browsing through the local produce, jam and baked good stands. Then we stopped for a mid-morning coffee, which was of course paired with pecan-crusted cinnamon buns. Mmm...I had every intention to photograph my delightful breakfast (really, I did!), but then I forgot my brilliant plan and gobbled it up before I realized my error. Oops!
With our bellies full, we did one more sweep of the market, made our purchases, snapped some photos and went away feeling wonderfully satisfied. Have you been to a Farmer's Market this fall? Which season do you like visiting your local market best?

Deletebraden and i went this past saturday! it was gorgeous! i wasn't really planning on buying a lot...but, seriously, what was i thinking??
ReplyDeleteHaha...I know! I just bought a jar of jam, but I could've easily bought more!
DeleteThere is something about a fall farmer's market that I love too, a warm coffee and crispiness in the air and that feeling that it just may be your last warm day makes me want to get out more!!
ReplyDeleteThere really is! I'm loving the fall season so far.
DeleteI absolutely adore farmer's markets and supporting our local farmers! Fresh veggies and fruits all the way!
ReplyDeleteI am such a fruit fiend. It's my favourite food group (besides chocolate that is)!
Deleteoh Amy I love the good old farmer market too ... only that the ones in Toronto seem to be a bit too commercialized and not too "local". Anyhow, I still love their produce and flowers. Chris and I made pumpkin mash on the weekend and I think we picked the kind you have in your photos too! so tasty :)
ReplyDeleteChris and yours' pumpkin mash sounds amazing. Too bad you couldn't mail out a bit of that to me!
